Order Statuses
When a shopper places an order, the initial order status is Awaiting Fulfillment (or Awaiting Payment if order requires manual capture). This status is set by BigCommerce. Subsequently, Bolt updates the order status to one of the following:
| Bolt Transaction Status | BigCommerce Order Status | Description |
|---|---|---|
| Pending | Manual Verification Required | Order was created and is under review. |
| Authorized | Awaiting Fulfillment | Order passed fraud review and requires manual capture. |
| Completed | Awaiting Fulfillment | Order passed fraud review and was automatically captured. |
| Reversibly Rejected | Manual Verification Required | Order was flagged for potential fraud and qualifies for re-review. |
| Irreversibly Rejected | Cancelled | Order was not force-approved and remains rejected. |
You may see statuses in BigCommerce that do not directly map to Bolt Statuses. This may be because of your chosen capture settings.
- Awaiting Payment: Applies when Bolt is configured to Authorize Only. This status typically updates to Awaiting Fulfillment (Bolt’s Authorized or Completed) within 5 minutes.
- Manual Verification Required: In some cases, if BigCommerce flags an order as fraudulent, you must manually authorize it within the BigCommerce dashboard.
Manage Orders
BigCommerce operations are natively supported for Bolt merchants who use Bolt as their online payment method.
Place Phone Orders
To enable phone orders for BigCommerce, contact your Bolt Customer Success Manager (CSM) to enable the following feature flag: Enable risk review on phone order transactions.
Once enabled, follow the standard BigCommerce process to place manual orders via your BigCommerce dashboard.
Issue Refunds
Refunds should be handled directly within BigCommerce.
- Standard Orders: Use the BigCommerce refund process.
- Backend Orders (API-created): When processing refunds for orders created via APIs, select the refund method as follows:
- If an option mentions Bolt, select it.
- If no Bolt option is present, select Refund customer through third party provider.
Void Transactions
You can void transactions directly from your BigCommerce dashboard.
