Prerequisites

  • Bolt merchant account
  • Shopify store admin access
  • Payment processor configured in Bolt dashboard

Steps

1. Install the Bolt plugin

Follow Set Up Bolt on Shopify to install the app from the Shopify App Store or custom app flow. Expected result: Bolt appears in Shopify Apps and the Bolt section is available in your Merchant Dashboard.

2. Configure checkout in dashboard

Enable your division, add your Shopify store URL to Approved Domains, and configure processor settings. Expected result: Sandbox checkout opens from your storefront test product page.

3. Place a test order

Use a test card in sandbox. Expected result: Transaction visible under Transactions in merchant-sandbox.bolt.com.

Production checklist

  • Switch to production API keys and dashboard
  • Approved production domain
  • Processor live credentials
  • Webhooks configured (if using custom backend)
