Bolt manages the Klaviyo integration for Shopify merchants. Shopper events and marketing consent captured at Bolt checkout are sent to Klaviyo server-side, without any callback, script, or plugin setup on your side.
Before You Start
- You have an active Klaviyo account.
- You have installed the Klaviyo native integration for Shopify.
- You have created the Klaviyo lists that will receive email and SMS subscribers captured at Bolt checkout.
What Bolt Handles
When enabled, Bolt sends the following to Klaviyo on your behalf. No client-side callbacks or custom JavaScript are required.
| Event | Description |
|---|---|
| Checkout Started | Sent when a shopper enters Bolt checkout, replacing the native Checkout Started source from the Klaviyo Shopify plugin. |
| Ordered Product | Sent after a successful Bolt checkout with items, SKUs, quantities, and order totals. |
| Abandoned Order | Sent for checkouts that were not completed, with cart contents and totals. |
| Customer identification | Sent on account enrollment with shopper profile and loyalty metadata. |
| Email consent at checkout | Subscribes shoppers who tick the email marketing consent box to the configured Klaviyo list. |
| SMS consent at checkout | Subscribes shoppers who tick the SMS marketing consent box to the configured Klaviyo list. |
Enable the Integration
Contact your Bolt Account Manager or Bolt Support and provide:
- Your Klaviyo public API key (Company ID).
- The Klaviyo list IDs that should receive email and SMS subscribers from Bolt checkout.
Bolt configures the integration on the admin side and confirms once it is live on your store.
