Enable PayPal for Shoppers

Enable shoppers to pay using their PayPal account during checkout. Unsure which alternative payment methods to set up? See all supported alternative payment methods.

Merchants must have a pre-existing relationship with PayPal before setting up this payment method.

How to Add PayPal to Checkout

  1. Log in to the Bolt Merchant Dashboard.
  2. Navigate to Settings > Checkout.
  3. Scroll to Alternative Payment Settings.
  4. Select Sign up for PayPal. You are redirected to PayPal to log in.
  5. Log in to PayPal to integrate with Bolt.
  6. Return to Settings > Checkout > Alternative Payment Settings.
  7. Enable shopper access to PayPal using the toggle.

You can disable PayPal from displaying during checkout at any time by returning to these settings and toggling PayPal off.

You can unlink a PayPal account to add a new account if necessary.

Unlinking Paypal ends synchronization between Bolt and your eCommerce platform for existing transactions; Bolt recommends first disabling Paypal from displaying in your checkout until all in-progress transactions using Paypal have been completed. Re-linking Paypal restores synchronization for these transactions.

  1. Log in to the Bolt Merchant Dashboard.
  2. Navigate to Settings > Checkout.
  3. Scroll to Payment Methods.
  4. Select Unlink.
