Create and Manage Subscription Offers

This article guides you through setting up and managing product subscriptions.

Before You Start

This article assumes that you have already completed the following:

Create Offers

All setup activities take place in the Subscriptions tab of the Bolt Merchant Dashboard:

  1. Log into the Bolt Merchant Dashboard:
  2. Navigate to Commerce > Subscriptions > Subscription Offers.

Create an Offer

When you create an offer, it immediately becomes available for shopper subscriptions.

In the Subscription Offers tab:

  1. Click + New offer.
  2. A product selection modal opens. This modal contains your product catalog, imported from your commerce platform.
  3. Select a product that you want to offer and click Continue.
  4. Select a frequency set and discount type for this offer. If you don’t see the frequencies or discounts that you need, go to Subscription Settings to configure additional options.
  5. In Default selection state, toggle how the product appears by default: as a subscription or one-time purchase. The shopper can select either option.
  6. Click Create offer.
  7. Shoppers can now enroll in subscriptions to this product. The frequency selector is available on the product details page.

Manage Offers

Modify Subscription

This action takes effect immediately, but does not affect existing subscriptions.

In the Subscription Offers tab:

  1. Find the offer you want to modify and click ellipses menu () > Modify subscription.
  2. Offer details appear in a side drawer.
  3. Click Edit by a setting and update the value.
  4. Click Save.

Deactivate Offer

This action prevents shoppers from subscribing to this offer. Existing subscribers will continue to receive orders.

In the Subscription Offers tab:

  1. Find the offer you want to deactivate.
  2. Click ellipses menu () > Change to inactive.
  3. The product details page does not display the frequency selector. Shoppers cannot enroll in subscriptions to this product.

Activate Offer

This action enables shoppers to subscribe to this offer.

In the Subscription Offers tab:

  1. Find the offer you want to activate.
  2. Click ellipses menu () > Change to active.
  3. Shoppers can now enroll in subscriptions to this product. The frequency selector is available on the product details page.

Cancel Offer

This action cancels all subscriptions and deactivates the offer, preventing enrollment.

In the Subscription Offers tab:

  1. Find the offer you want to cancel.
  2. Click ellipses menu () > Cancel offer.
